February 03 To the edge of Sichuan earthquake zoneFinally took my GMAT today though the result's ugly. Maybe I still have to take it one more time but now I don't need to think about it.:D So happy to be away from exams!!
Now, I get some time to post the pics taken during a visit to the edge of Sichuan earthquake zone.
The debouchure of Yinchang valley, which was destroyed totally during the Sichuan Earthquake last year, is our destination. The red billboard shows that the restruction of this area is with the help of Fujian province. Other more develped provinces in China are helping to reconstruct the disaster area county by county. Not only the government reconstruct this area but also other companies, NGOs and individual volunteers. Piles of temporary residence have been built on the relevant flat and safe area. Every time I think about the earthquake, I feel ashamed that I haven't done much to help the people in need.
The Yinchang Valley which was a famous tourist attraction has been significantly destroyed by the earthquake. The mountains coasted and the shape of the valley was even redesigned. This peak might be one of the example.
There's a bridge at the debouchure which was once flat. Now, it is a site in memory of the earthquake.
The earthquake violently broke it into five pieces, part of which forms a "w" shape.
Words are not enough to describe the impact of the earthquake, while pictures maybe able to. The mountains now go quiet. But who knows when the disaster comes again. Only hope next time nobody will be hurt.
